Director of Marketing and Communications

Larisa Caicedo has a combined twenty years of professional experience involving market analysis, program development, non-profit leadership, capacity building training, marketing and strategic communications. Her understanding of cultural competency combined with her twelve years of advocacy for improving access to quality health care have taken her to participate in different community and academic boards. She has extensive experience in program assessment, design, development and implementation of culturally competent programs. In the last thirteen years, Mrs. Caicedo’s work in the health field has evolved from women’s cancer advocacy community engaged research to culturally competent public health promotion. Her expertise expands to the private sector building up on her communications and executive management skills.

Through her health advocacy and non-profit leadership, Mrs. Caicedo acquired significant experience overseeing program evaluation and development of community engaged research (CER) in community behavior, patient navigation, and health management, mental health integrative and complementary medicine among other. She is a co-author in six community participatory research (CBPR) study publications that are advancing the field of psycho-oncology and behavioral science involving the Latino population. Currently, she holds a seat as member of the Community Advisory Board Member for Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS) and she serves as reviewer for their Institutional Research Board (IRB). Formerly served as an advisor for national and regional organizations such as the Komen National Hispanic/Latina Advisory Council, the Latin American Cancer Research Coalition Community Advisory Board-a Special Population Network funded by NCI-; The Susan G Komen for the Cure National Capital Area Community Profile Report Advisory Council; the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center Health Disparities Initiative Community Advisory Board and the Lombardi/Medstar Capital Breast Care Center. Ms. Caicedo is a graduate of the 2005 NBCC Project Lead and of the American Association for Cancer Research Scientist-Survivor Program. In 2011, she was one of 14 fellow executive directors nationwide invited to participate in the NYU Wagner School of Public Service “Lead the Way Leadership Initiative for Emerging Women of Color”.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Masters degree in International Commerce Policy.
