The 2015 Women In Leadership Series

We are extremely excited to announce that our owner Nhora Barrera Murphy is going to be one of the speakers at the Global Economic Forum for Women, which is part of the Women In Leadership Series. The event is taking place Nov 2-3 in Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi.

It’s inspiring to see efforts being made to bring women in the business realm to the front position. The Global Women In Leadership (WIL) series was created by naseba group co-founder and current CEO, Sophie Le Ray, and the event this year will take place in Abu Dhabi at the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, November 2-3, 2015.

The two-day conference will encompass debate panels, workshops, and open discussions, led by female industry leaders.

Among them are Laura Gucci, World President, World Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Dr. Siva Kumari – Director General, International Baccalaureate (Netherlands), Dr. Mazlan Othman – Former Director, UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (Malaysia), Jennifer O’Lear – Chief Diversity Officer, Merck (Germany), Fida Chaaban – Editor in Chief, Entrepreneur Middle East, Mona Ataya – Chief Executive Officer and Founder, mumzworld.com, and Nina Curley – Managing Director, Flat6Labs; Founding Member, Women’s Angel Investment Network.

We are honored to be a part of this amazing event and wanted to take the time out to showcase the other ground-breaking women that will be joining the panel with us.

Laura Frati Gucci:
Laura is the World President of World Association of Women Entrepreneurs. She is also Founder and President of Pirene, an Italian event management and PR Company.

In a line of business spanning over 18 years, she has magnificently established production plants in Tunisia, Morocco, Poland, Germany and the USA. Laura has also been presented with the ‘The Leading Women in the World Award’, the foremost global honor for the world’s women business leaders.

Dr. Siva Kumari:
During the course of her career, Dr. Kumari has commanded the development of groundbreaking solutions to educational concerns by partnering with educators, researchers and community groups to recognize and control solutions at scale. In her work, she has also preserved an unwavering focus on resolutions that are rigorously researched, maintainable and impactful.

Dr. Mazlan Othman:
Dr. Mazlan acquired a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and became a professor at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1981. In June 2009, Dr. Othman was selected to be the deputy director-general of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). Dr. Othman retired from the United Nations in 2013 and was hired by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia as a project director of Mega Science 3.0.

Nina Curley:
Nina runs Flat6Labs Abu Dhabi, an accelerator platform for technology startups engrossed in digital content and media. Formerly the Editor-in-Chief of Wamda, a podium for empowering entrepreneurs, she dedicate herself to supporting startups in the broader Middle East. With a training in cognitive neuroscience and decision-making, she is now discovering the psychology of collaborative team building and lean startup personality.

Mona Ataya:
Ms. Ataya is the Founder of mumzworld.com, the Middle East’s First and Largest shopping site for Babies, children and mothers. Ms. Ataya spent 5 years working at P&G with leading brands in P&G’s Soap Sector. Later Mona moved back to the Middle East working with Johnson and Johnson MENA followed by Johnson and Johnson Europe handling a wide-ranging portfolio of leading global brands.

Fida Chaaban:
Fida is Editor in Chief of Entrepreneur Middle East and Entrepreneur Qatar magazines. She linked with BNC Publishing, in January 2014, having formerly been Editor In Chief of RAGMAG magazine. Fida moved to Dubai to launch the MENA versions of the U.S.-based business and growth publication Entrepreneur. You can catch up to her on twitter at @fida.

Jennifer O’Lear:
Jennifer is responsible for driving global programs and processes contributing to development and engagement, including learning and development, culture and employee engagement, as well as diversity & inclusion.
